The network is organized as a non-profit membership-based collaboration. It is led by a steering committee, and the General Meeting for all partners is the highest authority of the network. The network secretariat is locatedd at the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at the University of Copenhagen.

The founding partners constitute the core members: Bayer, FMC, Chr Hansen, Danish Agriculture & Food Council, Danish Technological Institute, Novozymes, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, University of Copenhagen and Aarhus Universit. Together with the ordinary members they comprise the Plant Biological Network as a cross institutional collaboration within the area of plant biologicals.
