Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences at University of Copenhagen has a strong focus within the areas of agriculture, biotechnology and environmental sciences. Our research targets basic biological, chemical and physical functions and processes as a basis for solving global challenges. Development of innovative and disruptive technologies in collaboration with private and public partners is important. This is facilitated through the ongoing integration of basic and applied research with teaching, covering the whole chain from molecular biology to biological production systems and assessment of environmental impacts.
At University of Copenhagen, our research and teaching aim at a deeper understanding of the plant-microbial interactions. The applied perspectives is to collaborate with the other PBN partners on developing resilient crops that absorb stresses in responses to climate change, diseases and pest, and plants with improved growth and quality characteristics.
We see the network as focused and committed partnerships towards bringing awareness to the potentials of plant biologicals.
